As part of its community outreach project, the Paris Happy Workers 4-H Club has established a community garden on the town hall grounds. They have planted their first garden in 2021 and plan on harvesting the vegetables and share them with both local residents with food needs and local food pantries.
Starting with the vision of Club general leader Nikki Nicolai and her family, the club sought donations, plowed and tilled a garden space, built some raised bed gardens and planted a crop. This space is for the club members to share their project and communicate their successes and what they have learned. We hope you check back often to see new content and stop by the gardens to observe and maybe even pitch in at times!
Thanks to the following initial donors:
- Amanda Kurt – donation of all the lumber to make the raised beds possible.
Cash donations:
- Kenosha Beef/Birchwood Foods
- Billingsley Engineering
- CK Contractors – Chris Klemko
- Waste Management/Pheasant Run
- Charles Heide Family
