Ken had requested no formal recognition at the end of his service to the town, but he does deserve recognition and thanks for his many years of service to the town.
Ken was appointed to the initial recycling committee for the Town by Town Chair Gus Zirbel. He was a charter member of the Town’s Fire and Rescue Department, serving as a captain. Gus appointed him to the initial plan commission for the Town under County wide zoning in 1991. He served as a commission member until he successfully ran for the town board. Over 40 years of service to the town.
As a town board member, he has taken on roles as the superintendent of the town hall building, he has served as a liaison to the plan commission, as the liaison to the Fire Department, the town’s liaison with the County Highway department, he has been a member of the Landfill Standing committee and has served as the weed commissioner. He has also served as a member of the Town of Paris/Village of Somers I-94 corridor commission.
Ken has served as a close reader of contracts, a watchful custodian of the town’s finances and has always been a strong advocate for the town.
Ken has been a valuable resource for institutional knowledge, a voice of reason and at times caution.
Job well done Ken. Thank you!
