Village of Bristol trustee Chris Leker, Village administrator Randy Kerkman, State Representative Amanda Nedweski and Town Chair John Holloway met with project and engineering staff from the pipeline company on November 20.
The company has responded to initial input from landowners and made some alterations to the proposed route. This route removes some properties from consideration but also includes some properties that were not on the original maps. The company has indicated that they will share those maps with the Village and Town when available.
The pipeline company is hosting an informational meeting on Thursday, December 11, 2025 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Kenosha County Center in the main hearing room. The company will have exhibits and staff available to discuss the project with landowners. The company will be mailing invitations to landowners. This will include both landowners that would have pipeline located on their properties as well as adjacent landowners.
The company indicates that they are in the process of revising the survey consent letter, but they continue to try and meet with landowners in the meantime. Landowners can sign the current letter if they wish. There appears a willingness to modestly compensate landowners for granting access for survey work and site evaluation but that has not been confirmed yet. Choosing to work with the company at this time is entirely voluntary and engaging with the company should provide the landowner with the opportunity to share your concerns and any challenges on your property.
If the company makes a formal application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the project and the route is approved, the company would be granted the power of eminent domain. Eminent domain is not part of the process at this time. The company would use it only as a last measure. Their intent is to reach agreements with all landowners.
