USPS Postmark Policy Change

November 25, 2025
As of August 2025, postmarks are now being affixed at sorting centers unless specifically requested at the counter of a post office, so the postmark could be dated 1-3 days after the payment was mailed. This could cause tax payments to be considered delinquent since the timely payment statute is based on the postmark date.  Therefore, we suggest you mail your payments early, go into the post office to get it hand postmarked, or pay online using the E-check option to avoid becoming …
