USPS Postmark Policy Change
As of August 2025, postmarks are now being affixed at sorting centers unless specifically requested at the counter of a post office, so the postmark could be dated 1-3 days after the payment was mailed. This could cause tax payments to be considered delinquent since the timely payment statute is based on the postmark date.
